Our Background
Nerdy Books is a print and digital publishing company that provides tips, tricks and shortcuts for complex subject matter in fun-to-read, easy-to-use, and highly practical formats. Our philosophy is that any topic no matter how complex can be broken down into easily digestible nuggets of information. Our signature style combines straightforward language with humorous graphics to help you learn FAST!
We are best known for our "Just the Tips, Man" series of software tips. This series provides incredibly useful tips for using Microsoft Office products in the form of printed reference books, eBooks and Internet content. Individuals, corporations and educational institutions all use Nerdy Books as productivity tools, supplements to training programs and as branded promotional items.
In the future, we plan to expand the Nerdy Books titles to include tip books for children as well as other software packages. Our ultimate goal is to branch into other areas of interest such as gardening, cooking, etc. In 2005, we hope to release our first non-software title - an eBook of environmental tips - for those interested in treading more softly on the Earth.
Our Audience
The audience for our products can best be described by quotes from some of our fans:
"The "Just the tips, man'' series isn't for dummies or idiots. It's for people who don't have the time or desire to read long, boring software manuals."
Doug Stanley, Tampa Tribune
"If you would rather take a beating than use a computer software manual, you should check out "Just the tips, man". It's one of the most practical software books on the market."
Albuquerque Journal
"A real time-saver for folks who don't want to plow through 1,000 pages of technical jargon."
Columbus Dispatch
Software users don't need manuals these days; they just need tips that are focused on getting the job done. Nerdy Books knows what's essential and what isn't. The 'Just the Tips, Man' approach has saved me plenty of time combing through Help functions."
Paul Gilster, author of Digital Literacy
