NERDY BOOKS GUIDES
The six guides found in each Nerdy Book are not just pretty faces. These quirky guides play an important role in the Just the tips, man series of books. Their appearance on a tip page indicates whether a tip is easy, fun, cool, long or hard.

So, while you're reading the sometimes bizarre, often funny comments from the characters, notice which character is on the page. If you're new to Excel, for example, and you're reading a tip about Pivot Tables and don't quite understand, the Professor on the page should be a good indication that you're not alone!

VERY EASY TIPS
Name: Kenneth
Nickname: Einstein
Favorite activity: Watching cartoons

It's pretty obvious, the little boy Kenneth shows up on the easiest of tips. If you're new to the software, you might try his tips first.

FAIRLY EASY TIPS
Name: Shagg
Surf spot: Malibu
Pairs of scissors owned: 0
Favorte band: Grateful Dead

Look for Shagg, the hippy, on fairly straightforward tips. His notes are helpful to most users, but more advanced users might find themselves saying Shagg's infamous "duh".

COOL TIPS
Name: Guy Martini
Car: Lambourghini
Toothpaste: UltraWhite
Hobbies: Golf, Baccarat
Island: St. Martin

You might find yourself saying "You're kidding me. That's how you do it!" after trying a cool tip. They're typically easy to remember, great tips, and unknown to most users.

FUNKY TIPS
Name: Shelli
Favorite activity: beating the guys at hoops
Least favorite activity: algebra
Wants: to write her own tip book

Some tips are fun but not necessarily necessary; some tips are necessary but not necessarily fun. Our tomboy Shelli is on them all!

LONG AND ANNOYING TIPS
Name: Mr. Nester
Never has more than: a New York Minute
Favorite book: One Minute Manager
Favorite music: Mozart's Minute Waltz

Some of the best tips take more than 25 words to explain. Mr. Nester, one of the most impatient guys you'll ever meet, cannot tolerate the long tips, much less the ones that don't work 100% of the time. And...he'll let you know it!

HARD TIPS
Name: Professor Lester
Alma Mater: Harvard School of Tipology
Wants: Nobel Prize for Software Tips

You'll find Professor Lester on the more complicated tips. These tips are typically for more advanced users but are written in a step-by-step style that even beginners can follow.
